Work in Progress - Here is a background image I’m working on for a local rugby club’s website. I attached two of the images I used to make it…needs a few tweaks here and there but I’m really liking it so far!

New Online Portfolio Using Adobe Muse CS6

I Just finished my first website with Adobe Muse CS6. All in all it’s a great program! I’m so indecisive when designing for myself, I love being able to change things around so quickly without having to rewrite the code or upset other elements on the page, to then decide the way I had it first was best! The FTP is super easy and fast. It’s much like Dreamweaver but a few less steps.

The only problem I did have with this program is the code that it generates; it’s not as clean and organized as I would write. Also, you can’t change certain elements such as lightbox size unless you export the site to html first, then you have to sift through the mishmash of code and change it yourself. I was aware of this from other reviews on the program, but I didn’t realize just how bad it was until I saw it for myself.

Other than the messy code, I really enjoyed the program. It’s much like using InDesign and it just saves so much time! I would definitely use it again for my own personal use; it saved me from having multiple identity crises building my portfolio. I change my mind on what my theme should be faster then I write the code.

So here is my new online portfolio built using Adobe Muse: www.kristinabothwell.com.

I still have a few tweaks to make and some SEO to do. I would like to build phone and tablet versions but I haven’t decided if I want to go with Muse all the way… We’ll see!

Playing around with more old photography class photos. Just did some basic retouch here, would love to build a scene for it. I’m feeling like something with trains! haha Any Suggestions?

Never thought all of those photography class photos would come in handy! Playing around with blending modes in photoshop.

I was just going through some of my old website files to find pieces for my current portfolio and found these two folders. They are filled with some CSS that went horribly wrong! Haha the joys of web design!
